What Is A Computer Keyboard.

A computer keyboard is an input device which gives commands to the computer.

Basically there are many types of keyboard available but the most common are Mechanical keyboard and Membrane keyboard.

First we will learn what does a normal computer keyboard contains.

A standard computer keyboard contains 105 keys, Depending on the type of keyboard the number of keys can be more or less.

A computer keyboard contains –

FUNCTION KEYS are (F1 TO F12) this keys are in the first line at the top of the keyboard.

CONTROL KEYS are (LEFT & RIGHT CTRL, LEFT & RIGHT FN, LEFT & RIGHT ALT,  LEFT & RIGHT SHIFT, CAPS LOCK, BACKSPACE, SPACEBAR, WINDOW, ENTER, PGUP, PGDN, PRTSC, DELETE, INSERT, TAB & ESC).

ALPHABET KEYS are A TO Z alphabet keys in QWERTY formation. But there are aslo different types of arrangements  of  the alphabet keys in a keyboard but most commonly  QWERTY arrangement is used universially.

NUMBER KEYS are numbers from (0 to 9).

NAVIGATION KEYS are ARROW KEYS, HOME KEY, END KEY.

INDICATOR LIGHTS are present on the corner of the keyboard. If the first light is turned on then NUM LOCK is enable which allow us to type number from 0 to 9.

If the second light is turned on then CAPS LOCK is enable which allow us to type the alphabets from A to Z in capital letters.

If the third light is turned on then SCROLL LOCK is enable which allow us to scroll while typing or at the time od any activity.

PUNCTUATION KEYS are ( ;  :  ‘   ”  ?  /  .   , etc… ) these symbol keys on the keyboard.
These are the keys which is present on a keyboard. Which help us to use the computer as per our wish.
